BLENDING

BLENDING is a regional project that connects four creative festivals from the Western Balkans with the aim to strengthen regional cooperation and support the sustainable development of the cultural and creative sectors. The project brings together SUPEREXPOSURE (Trebinje), PDP Conference (Novi Sad), FLUID Design Forum (Cetinje), and POP-UP Sarajevo to jointly empower young creatives and cultural workers across the region. The project focuses on informal education, peer learning, and mobility for young designers, illustrators, and photographers. It supports the development of their creative practices through open calls, travelling exhibitions, and creative residencies that explore themes of sustainability, such as green design and environmental-friendly art and design practices.

ReCulture: Re‑branding of Cultural Institutions in the Western Balkans

ReCulture is a Creative Europe–funded initiative that fosters modernisation and enhanced visibility of four cultural institutions across the Western Balkans: the Cultural Centre Trebinje (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Museum of Contemporary Arts RS (Banja Luka), Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection (Novi Sad), and the Art Colony Danilovgrad (Montenegro).

Through a carefully curated open call process, eight emerging designers aged 20–27 from across the region are selected to co-create visual identity solutions for cultural institutions while gaining professional experience under mentorship from both regional and EU experts.

Their collaborative work has culminated in brand-new visual identities, based on strategic analysis of each institution and aligned with contemporary best practices in visual communication.

Additionally, the project hosted “Design for Culture” and “Process” traveling exhibitions and public events across Trebinje, Banja Luka, Novi Sad, and Danilovgrad—bridging institutional staff, designers, and audiences in dialogues on redesign, visibility, and innovation in the field of visual communication in the cultural sector.

The consortium of project partners consists of 7 organisations from 5 countries: Cultural Center Trebinje (Project Leader) and Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ink fest organisation and Faculty of Dramatic Arts from Serbia, Art Colony Danilovgrad from Montenegro, Museum of Civilizations of Europe and the Mediterranean (MUCEM) from France and Institute for Cultural Policy (iCP) from Austria.

Design week

Design Week Novi Sad (DWNS) is a design festival held in Novi Sad, Serbia, building on the legacy of the PDP Conference of Creative Media, founded in 2007. As a key part of Novi Sad’s European Capital of Culture 2022 program and organised under the Kaleidoscope of Culture initiative, DWNS celebrated the essential role of creative industries in shaping cultural identity and social development.

The event brought together over 300 creatives from Serbia and across Europe. Through a rich and interdisciplinary program featuring exhibitions, installations, lectures, workshops, children’s events, street art, film screenings, risography, photography, and motion graphics, the festival transformed SPENS, a modernist architectural landmark, into an active space for learning, sharing, and creative experimentation.

The central theme, “ECHO”, invited reflection on how we perceive ourselves and our environments in a hyper-connected, post-industrial world. The program encouraged dialogue on how design practices resonate in time and space, and what kind of cultural echoes we leave behind.

DWNS successfully connected designers, artists, students, and the wider public, offering not just a showcase of contemporary design, but a platform for critical exchange, education, and long-term inspiration within the creative community.
